BIOGRAPHY: (English)
Feminine and strong is the true meaning of the name “Carla” and this faithfully describes the essence of her character and unique way of expressing inspirational messages and music from the heart. She has an ability to bring you to feel the tenderness of God's love, yet His strength to overcome adversity.
Carla was born in California, USA. Her childhood was filled with days of laughter, games and the arts. She demonstrated an innate ability for acting, creative writing, dancing and singing. Overall, she had a pleasant childhood, but what made her childhood special was that she came to know Christ at a very young age.
At age 7, she had a life changing experience with God and realized God had a special purpose for her life. She was to share God's message of faith and hope in His never ending love. She excelled in school and church programs and attended her yearly summer camps and it was there that God reaffirmed her calling. Her friends at camp nicknamed her “preacher girl”. Carla didn't understand why, but her friends explained, “It's just that we understand God's word and feel His presence when you speak”. It was at this time, she realized her ability to share God's message with others. She was invited to speak at several churches, camps and youth events.
Under the direction of her choir teacher, Carla was able to develop her vocal abilities and love for music. Music was always a part of her life. From her dad's garage full of records, to the “alabanzas and coritos” from church, to the hymns from the Baptist hymnal and today's modern influence, Carla has a wide range of influences which has allowed her to minister to a variety of Christian organizations. Carla's focus never changes, it's all about God.
Some highlights of her ministry include speaking at women conferences, supporting nonprofit organizations and working with children and families through community outreach. She has been a Sunday school teacher, girls’ camp coordinator and youth leader. She has also had the privilege of serving as a worship leader at her local church and helping with the organization of successful citywide events. Carla has a passion for people and spirit to help the community which has allowed her to travel to minister at several churches and organizations.
Carla was blessed to have worked under the musical direction of Wiso Aponte and graced with the special participation of Hector David (renowned violinist), Omar Cintron and Eric Lopez on her music project titled “Decido Creer”. “Decido Creer” translanted to English means, “I decide to believe”. “Decido Creer” is a compilation of experiences made into song to take you to that next level of faith, hope and trust in God's love.
She attends and ministers at her local church as a member of the creative leadership team and actively participates with local community projects.
In addition to her work in ministry, she has a bachelor degree in Communications and a Master of Science in Global Strategic Communications. Her career outside of ministry has allowed her work in the areas of education supporting administration at local, district and county levels and later transitioned to a successful career as an award winning television producer, leading operations and strategy for national and local partnerships and the marketing for high profile film, radio and television media campaigns and productions.
Carla's message has been and continues to be “Our God is a God that heals, restores, saves, edifies and loves”. Her hope is that the content and messages she shares will accompany you in those times of prayer, those times of soul searching, in moments of difficulty and those times of overwhelming joy and victory. Carla looks forward to sharing messages of faith, hope and inspiration through her presentations at special events, radio, television, and various platforms.
